St. Lucia Accessible Island Driving Tour

The St. Lucia Accessible Island Driving Tour offers a memorable day filled with beautiful views, breathtaking nature and island hospitality! Visit the cities of Castries and Soufriere, explore a charming old fishing village and experience the Diamond Waterfall firsthand.

(Please note that the last 2 minutes to get to the waterfall viewpoint is a gravel path and may be challenging for some types of mobility equipment.)

On this accessible St Lucia island driving tour, you’ll be warmly greeted by your private driver/guide at the cruise dock and escorted to your comfortable, air-conditioned accessible van with a ramp. Rest assured this is not just a drive-by tour. You will have plenty of opportunities to get out and experience the sites firsthand along the route.

Depending on which dock you arrive, you will either end or start your tour with a visit to the busy, local Castries market. Using a wheelchair friendly route through the market, your guide will escort you through the many fascinating vendor stands showing you some of the local produce, artifacts and spices. This is a great place to take care of gifts for your friends and family back home!

Next, you’ll set out on a beautiful scenic island drive through banana plantations and beautiful mountain views, before making a stop in Anse La Ray, a small charming fishing village to the far western side of the island right next to Castries. In Anse La Ray, you’ll make a stop by the small center square to get out and explore firsthand. Take a stroll down the small pier, meet local fishermen and see what they caught for the day, make your way around the charming little city streets with traditional small cottages, and visit the beautiful old cathedral from the early 16th century. Your private guide will lead you using wheelchair accessible routes.

As your accessible St. Lucia tour continues to Soufriere, you’ll make several photo stops along the way. Not only is St. Lucia lush and rich in produce, it is a volcanic island which provides some amazing views, including the Pitons. While the Pitons volcano site is not wheelchair accessible, one can still see them from afar and snap some beautiful vacation photos.

Upon arrival in Soufriere, you will experience one of the few fully accessible waterfall views in the world! In the popular Diamond Botanical Garden, your knowledgeable guide will take you on a spectacular stroll while sharing all that he knows about the fauna and produce of the island. The path in the garden is accessible with no steps or steep inclines. At the end of the Gardens, you will see the amazing Diamond Waterfall right in front of you!

(Please note that the last 2 minutes to get to the waterfall viewpoint is a gravel path and may be challenging for some types of mobility equipment.)

There is an accessible restaurant right next to the gardens, where they serve a delicious traditional St. Lucia buffet and fresh squeezed juice (cost not included).

After a full day of exploring this beautiful paradise island, you will slowly start making your way back to Castries where your guide will safely get you back to your ship before departure time.

Diamond Botanical Garden and Waterfall: The route to the waterfall is mostly flat. Some surfaces are smooth, and some have gravel.
