Accessible Cruise Excursion to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Archaeological Museum

Naples visitors fascinated by the Mt. Vesuvius eruption will love this wheelchair accessible Pompeii cruise excursion from Naples.

This accessible Pompeii cruise excursion uses the wheelchair accessible entrance to the National Archaeological and an accessible tour route.

Important notes:
– The Archaeological Museum is closed on Tuesdays.

If you’d like to visit the city of Naples instead of the Archaeology Museum, you should choose the Accessible Pompeii & Herculaneum with Naples Driving Tour or the Accessible Pompeii & Herculaneum with Naples Driving Tour.

Most tourists enter Pompeii using the uphill entrance covered in enormous cobblestones (shown in the photo on the left). Your accessible Pompeii cruise excursion will use an accessible Pompeii entrance instead (shown in the photo on the right).

In order to meet the accessibility needs of all visitors, the Accessible Cruise Excursion to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Archaeological Museum uses a variety of wheelchair ramps (shown on the left) and pavement (shown on the right) to take the most accessible path possible.

You will avoid the extremely non-wheelchair friendly paths that most tours take which involve stairs (shown in the photo on the left) and non-continuous sidewalks (shown in the photo on the right).

The accessible Herculaneum tour begins with an overview of the site while looking down from the accessible sidewalk surrounding Herculaneum (view from the sidewalk shown inphoto on the left). Your tour will include visits to several of the buildings with step-free entrances (shown in the photo on the right).

The accessible tour of Herculaneum uses a series of wheelchair ramps and paved paths to enter the ruins and travel between the different buildings.

The Naples Archeological Museum houses the world-class artifacts recovered from the Pompeii and Herculaneum ruins. It also contains the Farnese Bull which is the largest statue recovered from antiquity. The Accessible Cruise Excursion to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Archaeological Museum uses a wheelchair accessible entrance to the building.
