Disabled Access at the Tate Modern museum

The Tate Modern has a large collection of modern, abstract, surreal, and pop art. It’s located on the south side of the river across from St. Paul’s Cathedral. If you’re a fan of modern art you should visit, otherwise spend more time at the National Gallery. There are step-free entrances on the east and north (river) sides of the building.

Is there an accessible entrance? Yes, There is a wheelchair ramp at the main entrance which is located west of building on Holland Street. The other entrance is also wheelchair accessible and is facing the river on the east side of the building near the café.

Where is the closest place that cars/taxis can drop-off people? On Holland  Street, west of the building

Where is the closest disabled parking? We are currently (9/2009) undergoing major building extension and for the next few months our accessible car park has been moved to the East entrance. We have 9 spaces, and visitors will be escorted into the galleries via the staff entrance.

What percentage of the attraction can be viewed without having to go up steps? 100%

Are there loaner wheelchairs? Yes, there are 10 wheelchairs and 2 electric scooters available on request.
