Venice Wheelchair Accessible Hotel Rooms

This disabled hotel is the only one of our recommended hotels not located on the Grand Canal or in St. Mark’s Neighborhood. While that means it takes an extra 20 minutes to get to the popular sightseeing areas in Venice, it also means that this area has no large crowds of tourists. It is also cheaper than many wheelchair accessible hotels in Venice.

This hotel has numerous accessible outdoor restaurants in a piazza located 500 meters away. The route between this hotel and the restaurants is flat without bridges. It also has a step-free route from the hotel to the excellent and accessible Ca Rezzonico Museum. This hotel has a 4 star classification.

There are two Venice disabled hotel rooms at this hotel. The bathrooms have roll-in showers with a chair attached to the wall. They also have grab bars next to the toilet.

We gave this hotel a 4 Star Sage Accessibility Rating because it has a roll-in shower and ramped access at the entrance. We did not give it a 5 star rating because the ramped access requires notification of the hotel staff.

The first of these Venice disabled hotel rooms is located near the lobby and has plenty of room for a wheelchair on the right side of the bed.

The disabled bathroom has a roll-in shower at the far end of the room with a chair and a grab bar attached to the wall.  It also has a roll-in shower. There is a grab bar on the right side of the toilet.

There is a single step to get up to the other disabled room. The hotel staff can put out a portable wheelchair ramp to reach it. The room is a little smaller than the one near the lobby and has space on the right side of the bed for a wheelchair user.

The disabled bathroom has a roll-in shower with a handheld shower head, a chair attached to the wall, and a grab bar attached to the wall. The toilet has grab bars on both sides of it.

The hotel is located on the street shown in the pictures below. There is a large square with numerous restaurants in this neighborhood.

At the door of the hotel is a single step and a button to let the hotel staff know that you need assistance. The staff will bring out a portable ramp for wheelchair users.

Pictures of the breakfast room and the ground floor hallway leading to the garden are shown below.

Venice has very few areas with grass and trees. The garden at this hotel is one of them.

500 meters away is a piazza with numerous accessible outdoor restaurants. There are no bridges between the hotel and the piazza.  Pictures are shown below.

“The hotel was great and very conveniently located close to the vaporetti stop, with restaurants, a grocery store, and other amenities close by. There were a number of bridges that were ramped all over Venice (three within walking distance of our hotel facing the lagoon) so it was very easy to get around that island. I would stay there again.

The guided tour was wondeful; my husband said it was #2 on his list of great moments, just after Pike’s Peak. The guys were wondeful. The one who did most of the talking spoke very broken English which made it better but he was adorable. They let Meg drive the boat accross the lagoon which is funny to watch. Their cab service was terrific in general; they met us AT THE TRAIN when we got off.”
