Colosseum Handicap Accessible Hotel with Rooftop Pool

Unlike the other handicapped accessible hotels in Rome, this hotel has a swimming pool on the roof which makes it an attractive option for families traveling with kids. There are numerous outdoor cafés located in the neighborhood across the street. It has a parking garage making it a good option for disabled travelers who are driving.

This handicapped accessible hotel has 160 hotel rooms, two of which are handicapped rooms with roll-in showers. Although this hotel is a large chain hotel and doesn’t have the charm of some of the other handicapped accessible hotels near the Colosseum, it is fully accessible and would work well for many handicapped travelers.

The street connecting it to the Colosseum is flat with smooth sidewalks making for an easy journey. It is located only 400 meters (0.25 miles) away from the Colosseum.

I gave this hotel a 5 star accessibility rating because of the flat entrance with a motion activated door, elevators to the disabled room, and grab bars next to the chair in the roll-in shower and the toilet. It has a 4 star hotel classification.

Each of these handicapped accessible Rome hotel rooms has a double bed which can be separated into two twin beds. There is a couch at the foot of the bed which a third person could sleep on.

The handicapped accessible hotel bathroom has a roll-in shower with a chair and grab bars on the left side of the chair. The toilet has grab bars on both sides of it and provides enough space for a wheelchair to be positioned next to it.

This hotel is located is only 400 meters (1/4 mile) from the Colosseum. The street has flat, smooth sidewalks on both sides of it.

The entrance to the hotel has flat access with motion-activated doors.

The lobby has 4 steps to get up to the breakfast area, or you can use the ramp shown in the picture on the right.

The image on the top left shows the hotel bar on the ground floor. The other three pictures show the hotel bar on the roof with a view of the Colosseum. There is a pool on the rooftop.

An elevator that is plenty wide for a wheelchair takes you up to the hotel rooms and to the rooftop bar. On the way to the Colosseum, there are archaeological sites on the side of the road which are shown in the photo on the right.
