4 Star Accessible Hotel in Rome Italy
Of all the Rome wheelchair accessible 4 star hotels that we visited, this is reminds us the most of an old palace. There’s a reason for it….before it was a 4 star hotel it was originally a palace that was built 140 years ago. It is located near the Piazza Repubblica on the famous Via Nazionale which has excellent shopping. It is only 600 meters (0.4 miles) from the Termini train station.
The luxurious 209 hotel rooms surround a beautiful garden, and the hotel has 3 restaurants where guests can dine.

We gave this hotel a 3 star accessibility rating because it has a step-free entrance and plenty of space in the room for wheelchair users to navigate. We did not give it a higher rating because it doesn’t have roll-in showers

The room that we visited has a balcony overlooking a beautiful courtyard. There is a step to get onto the balcony.
The private balcony has a table on it where you can have room service breakfast.
When you enter the bathroom, the bathtub is on your immediate left. A toilet is in the back left and does not have any grab bars. A bidet is in the back right.
The other disabled room does not have a balcony. It has a desk on the left side of the room and enough room for a wheelchair on both sides of the bed.
The bathroom in this hotel room also has a bathtub. The bathtub is on the right side of the room and the bidet and toilet are on the left side. There are no grab bars next to the toilet.
The hotel entrance has a revolving door. The doorman can push the door so that a wheelchair can easily fit through it.
To get up to the hotel rooms, wheelchair users will have to take the wheelchair lift in the lobby that is shown in the image on the left. The elevator is shown on the right and has plenty of room for a wheelchair.
Breakfast can be served in either the breakfast room shown on the left or the terrace overlooking the garden shown on the right.
There are steps to get down into the garden. To reach it in a wheelchair you would need to go out the front door and enter through a gate on the street.
The large sitting area is shown in the picture on the left. The long halls in the hotel have long rugs down the middle of them and are shown on the right.
The Via Nazionale street that the hotel is located on has smooth sidewalks and slopes slightly downhill heading southwest towards the Roman Forum. It has numerous shopping options.
