Accessible Aix-en-Provence Cruise Excursion from Toulon or Marseilles
This full day cruise excursion from Toulon or Marseilles is a great way to see and capture this breathtaking corner of France. On this 8 hour tour, you get to visit the beautiful city of Aix, and spend some memorable time in the small fishing village of Cassis.
Aix-en-Provence was originally founded by the Romans in 123 BC and was the capital of Provence during the Middle Ages. The Cours Mirabeau, a wide pedestrian thoroughfare through the city centre, is one of the most well-known sites in the city. It is lined with beautiful trees, sidewalk shops, local fresh produce markets and unique stone fountains.
In the small fishing village of Cassis, surrounded by white limestone cliffs, umbrella pines and vineyards descending directly into the sea, you will have more opportunities to visit outdoor markets and shops, and walk/roll along the little port area where pastel houses and colorful wooden fishing boats create a great scenery for beautiful pictures. There you may also stop for lunch in an accessible restaurant or sidewalk café (price not included), and take a boat tour of the Calanques if time and weather permits (price not included). The Calanques are the natural rocky formations along the coast that jut out and create little inlets and coves. Your accessible boat tour will give you the opportunity to see the beautiful natural formations up close and photograph the Mediterranean coastline from the sea!
