This accessible tour or shore excursion begins at the cruise dock or hotel where your experienced guide/driver will meet you in a comfortable, air conditioned accessible van, which can accommodate manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, power chairs, and mobility scooters. From here, you will head out on a 2-hour accessible driving tour that serves as a great introduction to the Nassau’s history and culture. Escorted by your friendly local tour guide, you admire popular sites such as Fort Fincastle, Governor’s Mansion, Queens Staircase and Parliament Square. You will also stop to enjoy an interior visit to the fascinating Fort Charlotte. Capture fun vacation photos while learning about the fascinating culture and history of Nassau and the Bahamas.
Next, your tour will continue with a bucket list item, an accessible swim with dolphin encounter. The accessible Swim with the Dolphins experience is a one-of-a-kind opportunity you don’t want to miss! You’ll cherish this unique chance to interact with these playful and intelligent marine mammals in a safe and accessible way. The program opens with an entertaining orientation, which covers a dolphin’s anatomy, the history of dolphins, training techniques, fascinating dolphin facts, and much more. Trainers, familiar with the needs of limited mobility participants, will assist you with each step of the interaction. Family and friends who are not taking part in the accessible dolphin program may observe from a wheelchair accessible viewing area.

Accessibility Description:
The Best of Bahamas Accessible Tour has received a 3-star accessibility rating. The tour does not require a wheelchair user to transfer during transportation and the routes using during the walking/rolling parts of the tour, are fully accessible without any steps or curbs. The only reason why it didn’t receive a higher rating is that in order to participate in the dolphin encounter, one must transfer out of the wheelchair and into the water. If you do not want to participate in the encounter and wish to view it from the accessible viewing area, this tour would have a 5-star rating.
The transportation used is an accessible can equipped with a lift or ramp, suitable for part-time and full-time wheelchair users alike.
You will have an opportunity to explore the historic Fort Fincastle. Your tour guide will lead you using accessible paths that are mostly flat or ramped.
Please note that for this tour, you must be willing to transfer out of your wheelchair and into the water to swim with the dolphins. You must have a companion who can assist you into and out of the water. There is a wheelchair friendly viewing area available for visitor who do not wish to get in the water.
