Your friendly private guide will meet you at the Interlaken Ost train station and escort you on board the accessible train headed to the small mountain village of Wengen. Upon arrival here, you’ll disembark the train and take a short accessible gondola ride up the mountain to enjoy a beautiful view over Wengen and the Lauterbrunnen Valley.Among other things you’ll see the majestic Männlichen Mountain (2,343 meters high), and Grindelwald, a traditional village with awesome views of the Eiger North Face. Accessibility Description:
I gave the Swiss Alps Männlichen and Grindelwald Accessible Guided Tour a 4 Star Sage Accessibility because it involves step-free routes, and wheelchair lifts or ramps to get onto the trains. It did not get a higher rating because there are some mild slopes along the route.
Some of the trains are old and less accessible. In this case, your tour guide will arrange for a wheelchair lift to get on board (shown below on the left). A small hill (shown below on the right) leads up from the Pfinstegg gondola to the toboggan run.
This short gravel path leads down to the toboggan start. Wheelchair users will transfer onto the sled, then a staff member can bring your wheelchair to the finish. You will sled downhill, then a conveyer belt will bring you and the sled up to your wheelchair.
