On this shore excursion, you will see and explore the best accessible highlights that Aruba has to offer, including the popular California Lighthouse, the Ayo Rock Formations and the Bushiribana Gold Mine. You will also enjoy 2 hours of free time at an accessible beach with access to a special beach wheelchair, accessible restroom and an accessible restaurant.
Start your day by meeting your tour guide by the Aruba cruise dock. From here, you will board your accessible van and head out on a beautiful, scenic drive along Druif Beach, Eagle Beach and the very colorful resort area on Palm Beach. Your first stop on this highlights tour is the The California Lighthouse. The lighthouse was a constructed in 1910 to warn ships from the coastline of Aruba, and now serves as a popular landmark for tourism. The lighthouse is closed to the public but the area around it is fully accessible. You will be able to admire a great panoramic view of the island from the western point!
Next, your tour continues to the Alto vista Chapel, built in the 17th century! It is said that Spanish Missionaries converted the islands Indians into Catholics here. Your guide/driver will also take you to the beautiful Natural Bridge, carved by the brute forces of the waves into the limestone rock, and provide you with an option to enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the water (cost not included).
Continue your day with some other memorable experiences visiting the famous Ayo Rock Formations and the fascinating ruins of Bushiribana Gold Mine. This mine in Aruba dates back to 1874! Admire the fascinating ruins that are left at the site and learn about the interesting history of the Gold industry in Aruba. You will also enjoy a relaxing panoramic drive to the southernmost point (Sero Colorado, Baby Beach, Rodgers Beach) and the sand dunes at the northernmost point.
The second part of your day includes a relaxing time at at accessible beach. This accessible beach has a coral reef and sea life located within easy swimming distance of the uncrowded beach and the clear, and its calm water that highlights every shade of blue is sure to impress you. In order for you to navigate the sand and get to the water, you will have access to a special beach wheelchair. Please note, in order to use it, you must be able to transfer from your own wheelchair.
You’ll have the opportunity to visit an accessible restaurant by the beach for lunch before heading back to the cruise ship (cost not included). Please note, you can choose between a duration of 4 our 6 hours for this accessible excursion. Make sure to note your preference upon booking.

Accessibility Description:
The Highlights of Aruba Shore Excursion has a 4-star accessibility rating. The route has been customized to make sure it is entirely step-free, and your knowledgeable tour guide is familiar with accessibility in each location. An accessible van equipped with a lift will be used between the different venues. It did not receive a higher rating because in order to reach the water, you will need to transfer into a special beach wheelchair to help you navigate the sand.
The accessible vans in Aruba are equipped with a ramp for easy access. Larger mini-busses and open-air busses are also available for bigger groups.
The Ayo Rock Formations is a fun place to visit. It looks just like something out of a Flintstones movie! The ground here is covered in gravel.
During your accessible Aruba tour, you will visit the Bushiriba Goldmill Ruins. The ground is mostly flat and covered in Gravel. You can get close to admire the ruins.
The area by the California Lighthouse is completely flat and easy to navigate. Please note you cannot enter to visit the Lighthouse. It is not accessible.
The area by the beach has an accessible path available to navigate through the sand. In order to reach the ocean front, you will need to use an accessible beach wheelchair which is included in your tour.
You will have access to a special beach wheelchair that works both on sand and in water.
There is an accessible restaurant available onsite as well.
